Alec Doherty

Alec Doherty is a jewellery label led by an illustrator and designer who works from a studio in Dalston, east London. The pieces are necklaces and signet rings, each cast with an expressive face. Doherty draws on emotions and experiences from growing up in the North of England in the 1990s, on the cusp of the millennium, and the results have a naïve, illustrative feel that leaves room for the wearer's own story. Everything is made in small batches in Hatton Garden, using recycled gold and silver and responsibly sourced stones. Sapphires often brighten the eyes of the Ecstasy ring, which keeps its smile playful. It's jewellery with a sense of humour, made to be handed down.
