Bass Weejuns

Bass Weejuns are the loafers from G.H. Bass, a shoemaker that began in Wilton, Maine, in 1876 under George Henry Bass. The company later moved to Farmington, Maine, to use water-powered machinery. Weejuns, named after a Norwegian slipper-type moccasin, are described by the brand as the first penny loafer, and END. dates the design to 1936. They moved from Palm Beach socials to Ivy League corridors, and Michael Jackson wore black pairs in the Thriller video in 1982. Bass has since made limited-edition Weejuns with Universal Works, Engineered Garments, Mark McNairy and Tommy Hilfiger. END. stocks Larson and Lincoln styles, lug-soled 90s versions, nappa builds and horsebit variations.
