BODE

Bode is an American label founded in 2016 by Emily Adams Bode Aujla. It began with one-of-a-kind garments made entirely from antique textiles, and it still works from memory, craft and archival technique. Modern workwear silhouettes meet quilting, mending and appliqué, traditions the brand describes as female-centric. Each season starts from a specific, personal story about American culture and identity. Bode was the first female designer to show at NYFW: Men's, and pieces are made to order in New York. The range now takes in graphic tees, knitwear, shorts and vacation shirts. Some nod to a '90s souvenir tee, others to a 1961 baby sweater. It's clothing that sparks the "is that vintage?" question, and the answer is usually no.
