Domrebel

Domrebel is an art and fashion studio based in Montréal, working from D.R.S.M. (DOMREBEL Studios Montréal) in the St-Henri neighbourhood. It was founded in 2003 as a collective, and it treats clothing as a medium for its art. Expect original cartoon characters, hand-painted artworks and experimental garment treatments such as embroidery, studding and hand-applied crystals. The studio's artists paint and make sculpture, and that work feeds each season's collection. Garments are made with local factories and independent artisans, drawing on Montréal's garment heritage. The name comes from the Latin Dominus Rebellis, "master of rebellion", which fits the label's playful, anti-conformist streak.
