Gaston Luga

Gaston Luga makes bags for people who think a backpack can be as covetable as a good pair of trainers. The idea came from co-founder Carl Sundqvist's childhood friend Gaston, a lifelong sneakerhead who wanted a practical, modern bag while travelling in Asia. "Luga" stands for "Light Urban Global Accessory", and the first backpack arrived in 2017. The range covers rucksacks, crossbody bags and tote bags, described as durable and waterproof, with seasonal colours and limited archive bags. Recycled PET features in the designs. The brand has been carbon neutral since 2019, working with Carbon Footprint Ltd, and uses production partners rather than its own factories. A community of collectors has grown around the limited drops.
