Howlin'

Howlin' is a knitwear label based in Antwerp, founded by brothers Jan and Patrick Olyslager. It grew out of a family business that has made knitwear in Scotland since 1981, and the Howlin' name arrived in 2009. The name is Scottish slang for "smelly", which tells you how seriously it takes itself. The making stays traditional. Pieces are produced in Scotland, Ireland or Belgium, with specialist manufacturers, locally sourced yarns and time-honoured knitting techniques. The designs are where it loosens up: bright colours, Fair Isle prints, colour block patterns and shapes with room for fantasy. The brothers' love of underground electronic music feeds into each collection. Beyond knitwear, you'll find tees, shirts, shorts and accessories.
