J. Lindeberg began with a golf bag on the back of a motorcycle. After leaving his role as a distributor for the Italian denim brand Diesel, Johan Lindeberg rode through southern France, playing different courses as he went. He noticed that golf clothing in 1996 was outdated, uninspiring and short on style, so he went home and built a golf apparel brand with high fashion looks. That sport-meets-fashion idea still runs through the label. Today the range covers men's and women's fashion, golf, racket and activewear, and the brand works with athletes and cultural figures it calls ambassadors. It also runs a free membership scheme called Clubhouse, which offers free returns and 10% off full-price items on a first order.
