Lunetterie Générale
Lunetterie Générale is an eyewear label founded in 2018 by designer Julien Couture. Its glasses are handmade in Japan, and the studio describes the work as artisanal craftsmanship with a vintage-inspired look. Couture's love of cinema shapes the designs, which draw on Art Deco aesthetics and classic films. The label mixes French refinement with the bold spirit of American culture, and the result is quiet and nostalgic, with a focus on balance and precision. The emblem is based on Japanese Kamon, family crests, and is built from four triangles. The name comes from the Magasin Général, the traditional village mercantile, where objects were chosen for purpose, beauty and lasting value. Recent pieces include the Grand Prix, inspired by Monte-Carlo, and a new eyewear case.
