Maharishi

Maharishi is a London label founded in 1994 by Hardy Blechman. The name is Sanskrit for Great Vision. From the start it has worked with hemp, organic cotton and upcycled military textiles, making utilitarian clothing with a strong line in camouflage. The thinking behind it is duality: East meets West, visibility meets camouflage, craft meets tech. The piece to know is the Snopants, a reinterpretation of U.S. Army snow trousers that has appeared in every collection since 1996. Patented Snocord and Snobutton systems adjust the fit and let them convert to three-quarter length or shorts. Beyond those, you'll find cargo pants, drawstring trousers, t-shirts and hoodies.
