Neighborhood

Neighborhood is a Tokyo label founded in 1994 by designer Shinsuke Takizawa in Harajuku. It grew out of the Ura-Harajuku scene, the maze of back alleys in Shibuya that launched many of the labels behind Tokyo's street style. Takizawa drew on London punk rock, 1970s American motorcycle culture and a love of anything loud or rebellious. That mix shows in clothing that blends military influences with biker grit. The range now covers shirts, hoodies, denim and utility jackets, plus its signature t-shirts with skull-and-crossbones graphics. The brand's motto is "Craft with Pride". Once a find mostly for people visiting Japan, it has since become a global fixture, with each season adding a new chapter.
