NOMARHYTHM TEXTILE was known as NÒMA td until its name changed, though the ethos stayed the same. Founded in 2005, the label spans London, New York and Tokyo, and filters a global outlook through a distinctly Japanese sensibility. It is run by co-founders Masako Noguchi and Takuma Sasaki. Noguchi comes from fine art and textiles, which brings both structure and spontaneity. Sasaki has worked as a buyer and boutique owner, and that shows in the eye for detail and curation. Craft sits at the centre. Hand-drawn motifs are translated through traditional methods and contemporary materials, so each piece becomes a study in proportion, texture and feel. Fabrication comes first, and every piece is treated as a canvas.
