Spunge

Spunge is the solo label from footwear designer Salehe Bembury, built on more than 15 years in footwear and industrial design. The name is the idea: it's everything he has soaked up, absorbed and taken in across that time, now put to work on his own terms. The stated philosophy is "function meets nature", and the aim is to "explore, experiment and evolve". The first release is the Osmosis Runner, a new silhouette with a proprietary Squish Tech cushioning system inspired by squeeze toys. Up top it uses ripstop, mesh and a moisture-wicking lining, with function put ahead of everything else. END. (UK) stocks it. The brand's own sign-off is "Be a spunge, and remain curious."
