Naked and Famous Denim

Naked & Famous Denim was founded in 2008 by Brandon Svarc and is based in Montreal. The jeans are raw Japanese selvedge, cut and sewn in Canada from fabric woven at some of Japan's best-known mills. The philosophy is "no washes, no embroidery, no gimmicks", so any fading comes from the wearer, not the factory. The brand is best known for its "weird" denim. Past fabrics include 32oz jeans, scratch-and-sniff, glow-in-the-dark and stainless steel-infused cloth. The Galaxy Selvedge pairs a deep indigo warp with a black weft and bright neps. The Frankenstein weave alternates left- and right-hand twill, so it twists as it wears. The Elephant 13 fades to a red core. Hemming is free, done with a chain stitch, and there are belts, caps and Higonokami pocket knives too.
