Acne Studios

Acne Studios is a Stockholm label founded in 1996 by Jonny Johansson. It began with denim, a small run of raw, red-stitched jeans that unexpectedly sparked a movement, and that early focus on fabric, finish and proportion still shows in the clothes today. The menswear range now moves between tailoring, off-beat knitwear, graphic tees and long sleeve tops, with custom-developed textiles and faded, distressed treatments across tees and denim. Jackets and footwear sit alongside them. The fuzzy mohair scarf has a loyal following, and scarves and beanies remain fan favourites. The house also puts out Acne Paper, books and exhibitions, and it marked three decades with portraits by Nan Goldin.
