Jak was founded in Lisbon in 2014 by designer Isabel and entrepreneur José Maria, who wanted minimalist, well-made sneakers at a fair price. The label makes premium unisex leather and vegan sneakers, along with boat shoes and other wardrobe essentials, all produced in family-owned factories in Portugal. Materials are chosen for durability and lower environmental impact, using leathers and vegan alternatives certified to LWG, Reach, GOTS and Oeko-Tex standards, alongside organic cotton. The look stays clean and pared back rather than logo-driven, built to outlast trends. In the UK, Jak's menswear turns up at Browns Fashion and John Lewis.
