TOMS was founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie, growing from humble beginnings in Venice Beach into a global footwear brand. It made its name with the Alpargata, a simple espadrille-style slip-on with roots in Spain and Argentina, and has since expanded into sneakers, sandals, boots and dress shoes for men, women and kids. TOMS is built around giving as much as selling: it's a Certified B Corp that puts a third of its profits towards grassroots work in mental health, education and community wellbeing, and runs a resale scheme with thredUP for credit on worn TOMS items. Comfort and an easygoing, everyday spirit run through the whole range.
