F. Hammann

F. Hammann is Germany's oldest maker of leather goods and travel accessories, and it still works from Offenbach am Main, where it started in 1864. It's a family business, now in its fifth generation, and the whole process happens under one roof, from cutting the leather to the finished piece. Products are made by hand, with skills passed down through the family, and the company says several details are patented. The leather is natural full-grain, of European origin and tanned exclusively for the label. It develops a patina with age. Hammann also keeps replacement parts and offers a lifelong in-house repair service, so an old wallet or case can be mended rather than replaced.
