Hestra

Hestra makes gloves, and very little else. Martin Magnusson started the family business in 1936 in the small town of Hestra, in Småland, southern Sweden, beginning with gloves for lumberjacks. The family still runs it, and design and development happen at the headquarters in town. Hestra has its own factories and buys its own leather, fabric and wool, which keeps the whole production chain under its control. Several models are handmade by very experienced glove makers in Europe. The range runs from ski and expedition gloves to leather styles such as the Jeanne, cut from supple Italian lamb leather, and the aim throughout is warm hands that can still work zips and bindings.
