Ray-Ban

Ray-Ban began in 1937, when Bausch & Lomb of Rochester, New York answered a US Army Air Corps request for something to stop pilots' glare. The result was the Aviator. The Wayfarer followed in 1952, one of the first frames moulded in plastic rather than bent from wire. Both shapes are still the heart of the range. Oi Polloi stocks the smaller end of the archive: the Original Wayfarer in bio-based acetate, the Old Aviator, the Cats 5000 and the Flacko. END. lists a collaboration with A$AP Rocky, including the Wayfarer Puffer, and says every pair gives 100% UV protection and comes with a hard case. Familiar shapes, which is rather the point.
