Patapaca

Patapaca is a London sock label that started in 2017 with one material in mind: alpaca wool. The socks are designed in London and made in Peru, sometimes on a traditional machine that knits the thickest alpaca socks possible, and sometimes with artisans and knitting communities. Alpaca fibres hold air pockets that store warmth when it's cool and release it when it's warm. The label describes the wool as soft like cashmere, but stronger and warmer than sheep's wool. It also says the fibres repel water and don't soak up sweat, so you can wear a pair five to ten times and simply air them between wears. The colours are playful, and the patterns are modern. The aim is socks that last, feel comfortable and go easy on the planet.
