Penfield

Penfield was founded in Hudson, Massachusetts in 1975 by Harvey Gross, who had spent years championing insulated outerwear for its warmth and durability. He set up a small manufacturing plant in an old textile mill to produce the brand's early jackets. Penfield's New England style helped introduce American outerwear to the wider world, and the brand began exporting internationally from 1979. Known for fleeces, down-filled jackets and water-repellent coats built to handle wind and rain, Penfield's clothing moves easily between trail and street, and it has been stocked by UK retailers since the late 1980s.
