Purple Mountain Observatory

Purple Mountain Observatory, or PMO, is an outdoors and activewear label founded in London in 2021 by Matt Braun and a collective of outdoor enthusiasts. It started from a love of nature, with the city as its other inspiration, and it moves between the two. The name comes from a historic scientific institution in China. PMO builds a "system of gear" that works as equipment first, with a streetwear-leaning look. Expect 3-layer hardshells, ripstop nylon, articulated trousers and jackets with diamond gussets, YKK waterproof zips and magnetic welt closures. Fits are generally relaxed, inspired by vintage ski wear, and the silhouettes are gender-inclusive. Shorts, alpine pants and lightweight nylon jackets are all part of the range.
