RICHARD QUINN

Richard Quinn is a womenswear designer who studied on the MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, and his own website describes the work as forward-thinking womenswear and textiles. Textiles are clearly central to what he does. MACHINE-A, the London concept store, describes his approach as tongue-in-cheek. The collections it stocks show romantic florals and black sequin fabrics, cut into slim silhouettes that throw everything off-kilter. So the mix is sweetness with a twist: pretty prints and sparkle, but never quite straightforward. If you like clothes where the fabric does much of the talking and the shapes keep you guessing, this is a label worth a look.
