Salvatore Piccolo

Salvatore Piccolo is a Naples shirtmaker whose story starts in the Piazza Mercato district, where his mother, Maria Cavagnoli, made bespoke shirts at home. At sixteen he opened a small made-to-measure shirt shop with her, learning cutting and design client by client. It grew into a factory, and his shirts travelled to London, Monte Carlo, Qatar and Azerbaijan. He later added jackets, ties, foulards, gilets, scarves and suits, mixing English, American and Italian style with Neapolitan craft. Trunk Clothiers stocks his ready-to-wear shirts, made entirely by hand in his Naples workshop, with around six hours of work in each one. Buttonholes and shoulder seams are hand sewn, and sleeves and collars are attached by hand. There is also an official store in the middle of Naples.
