Stefan Brandt makes wardrobe staples from Peruvian extra long staple cotton, and the whole thing rests on the quality of that fibre. The label's Sea Island line uses select bales, where unripe and overripe fibres are left unpicked, then a 15-step Prefit treatment brings out what it calls the "South American silk" in the cotton. Fabrics are washed, dyed and finished in-house. At The Local Merchants, the menswear range is described as luxury jersey: long sleeve crews, refined tees and knit-like layers that sit between smart and relaxed. There's also a slightly fitted blazer in mercerised cotton jersey with spandex. Each piece is measured individually, so it's worth comparing the listed sizes with a garment you already own.
