Fine Creek Leathers

Fine Creek Leathers is a Japanese label built around one material: horsehide. Yoshikatsu Yamazaki owns and designs it, and he makes each piece at his atelier in downtown Tokyo. The brand's aim is to explore what horse leather can do, and the range is mainly leather jackets. Yamazaki sources hides from the Himeji tannery in Japan and develops his own tanning recipes. The leather, the tanning and the stitching together help the jackets age well. In the UK, the label is stocked by Rivet and Hide. The designs take their cues from jackets of the 1940s, 50s and 60s, reworked into sharper, more modern silhouettes. A good pick if you want a vintage-minded leather jacket with a Tokyo workshop behind it.
