Fred Perry

Fred Perry was founded in England in 1952 by the three-time Wimbledon champion of the same name. Perry was a cotton-spinner's son who won a world table-tennis title at 19, and the label grew out of sportswear built for the tennis court. The polo shirt is still its centrepiece, marked with the laurel wreath and hand-finished twin tipping. The M12 and the M2 are the models to look for. The polo travelled from centre court to punk gigs and the terraces, and was adopted by scene after scene. Today the range also covers plimsole sneakers, taped track jackets, knitwear, T-shirts and accessories.
