Jackman

Jackman is a Japanese factory brand from Fukui, and the story starts with baseball. After the war, Mitsugu Tanabe, founder of Tanabe Meriyasu, left his job and built a sewing plant for baseball goods, inventing new techniques as he went. Jackman carries that spirit on, and Oi Polloi says the firm has been knitting since 1949. The clothes lean on old ball team uniforms. The cotton is spun rough and uneven on purpose, and the necklines are taken from vintage baseball jerseys. Expect sweatshirts, tees and knits, mostly in the colours a 1950s team would have worn, all made in Japan. Son of a Stag describes heavyweight sweatshirts and tees built for long wear and everyday comfort.
