PYRENEX

Pyrenex is a French down specialist based in Saint-Sever, in the Landes region of south-west France. Abel Crabos started out in 1859, collecting goose and duck feathers from local markets and farms, and the business is still run by his family, now under Édouard Crabos. The company processes down from farms in the south-west, which it says lets it guarantee quality and traceability. It makes bedding, where it describes itself as number one in France, and down jackets for men and women, including the Authentic Jacket. The name nods to the nearby Pyrenees, and the label has also made sleeping bags and a mountain collection. There is a Paris boutique on rue du Temple.
