Snow Peak

Snow Peak is a Japanese camping brand founded in 1958 by Yukio Yamai, a mountaineer who couldn't find climbing gear he trusted and so started making his own in Sanjo, Niigata, a town that has been forging metal for centuries. Early on that meant titanium mugs, cookware, stoves and chairs, plus the odd bit of clothing. Gear is light enough to carry up a hill and built well enough to come back down. Today the label also makes Japanese-designed technical apparel that aims to work in town and out in the countryside. Its lines include Snow Peak Fly Fishing, Trad Label and Epic Apparel. The company says its gear carries a lifetime guarantee.
