Y-3

Y-3 is an ongoing collaboration between adidas and the Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, and it sits in the gap between sportswear and fashion. adidas brings its performance expertise, while Yamamoto brings his approach to shape, proportion and movement. Expect technical fabrics, oversized silhouettes, monochrome palettes and a lot of black, often with graphic branding on top. It reflects Yamamoto's belief that clothing should move with the body rather than restrict it. The range covers jackets and trainers, plus hoodies and t-shirts. It is not quite performance wear and not quite luxury fashion, and that in-between quality is the whole appeal.
