Fortela

Fortela is an Italian label founded in 2015 by Alessandro Squarzi, and it grew out of his own way of dressing. The clothes draw on an archive of military, workwear and vintage tailoring, then get reinterpreted and made between Italy and Japan by skilled artisans. The range is broad. Some collections lean towards the rugged spirit of the Wild West, others towards the quiet elegance of mid-century tailoring, and you will find cashmere crewnecks, shawl-collar cardigans and chinos. The idea is a wardrobe of pieces to live in, wear out and pass on, rather than follow trends. There is also a women's line under Alessia Giacobino, and a flagship store in Milan.
