Hiut Denim Co

Hiut Denim Co makes jeans in its own factory in Aberteifi (Cardigan), West Wales, and the story starts with the town. In the 1960s its jeans factory employed more than 400 makers. When production moved offshore in 2002 the jobs left but the skill stayed, and Hiut was founded in 2011 to put it back to work and train a new generation. Cutters work from paper patterns, machinists guide the denim through each seam, and every pair is signed by its maker. The most experienced craftspeople are called Grand Masters. Fits run from high and wide to slim and tapered, in five-pocket styles using selvedge denim. Every pair comes with Free Repairs for Life, done back at the factory.
