Manastash

Manastash began in Seattle in 1993, named after Manastash Ridge, east of the Cascade Range in the Pacific Northwest. The idea from the start was to make good outdoor clothing from eco-friendly materials, with hemp and recycled fleece at the centre. The designs take cues from old American products, and Japan picked the brand up early. Today it sits under TSI Holdings in Japan and is Tokyo based. The clothes are functional and clean, with interesting textures, bold colours and patterns. Look for small details such as oversized utilitarian pockets, contrast piping, fabric zip tabs and subtle logo patches. Fabrics include hemp, polyester and organic cotton.
