Paraboot

Paraboot is a French shoemaker that has been making leather shoes since 1908 in Izeaux, near Grenoble, in the French Alps. The name comes from Pará in Brazil, where founder Rémy Richard first saw the rubber soles he then began making himself. The shoes are Norwegian welted, rubber soled and resoleable, and most are still made in France. Stockists say the sole is built for wet pavements. Traditional hand-sewn techniques and carefully chosen leathers are part of the approach, with each pair designed for particular uses. The Michael and the Clusaz are the styles most often singled out as classics of the range. Paraboot makes collections for men and women.
