Porter-Yoshida & Co.

Porter-Yoshida & Co. is a Japanese bag maker. Kichizo Yoshida set up Yoshida & Co in Tokyo in 1935, having carried his belongings out of the 1923 Kanto earthquake roped together, and decided a bag is a tool before it is anything else. The Porter line followed in 1962, named after hotel porters. Everything is still made in Japan by a network of small workshops. The design borrows from the fabrics and construction methods of mid-century American military jackets, and the look stays clean and understated. Oi Polloi stocks the Force, Crag, Flex, Ride and Smoky series: daypacks, shoulder bags, totes and Dill wallets, mostly in navy and olive drab.
