Samurai

Samurai is a Japanese denim label founded in Osaka in the late 1990s. Rivet & Hide describes it as known for vintage-inspired cuts, exceptional fabrics and a near-obsessive pursuit of quality. The label's own site talks about a commitment to high quality and to the joy of natural fading and aging through wear. That focus shows in the cloth. Its 25oz denim is a heavy one, said to feel armour-like at first and to settle to the body with wear. The S510XX regular straight is one base for it. Another fabric is a 15oz black-over-blue selvedge, where the black wears away to show indigo underneath. Details include Samurai's own rivets and its Shogyo Mujo pocket lining.
