Schott NYC

Schott NYC was founded in New York in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott, who started out selling raincoats door-to-door from a Lower East Side basement. In 1928 Irving designed the Perfecto, named after his favourite cigar, and it was the first motorcycle jacket with a functional zip. Marlon Brando wore a 618 Perfecto in The Wild One, and the Ramones later wore Schott at CBGB. During the Second World War the company made the B-3 Bomber and the Peacoat for the U.S. Navy, and both remain in the range. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, Schott still makes its core leather goods in a New Jersey factory, using heavyweight steerhide and horsehide.
