Tricker's

Tricker's makes its shoes and boots in Northampton, and has done since 1829. Rivet & Hide describes it as the oldest established shoemaker in Great Britain, still family-owned and one of the few holding a Royal Warrant. Everything is made in a single Northampton factory, and each shoe goes through no fewer than 260 individual operations, from clicking and closing to lasting and welting. The construction is Goodyear welted, so pairs can be resoled again and again. The country boot dates back to 1840. The Bourton brogue and Stow boot are the names to know. There's a flagship store on Jermyn Street, open since 1938, plus shops in Tokyo and a service centre in China.
