Tsuchiya Kaban

Tsuchiya Kaban is a Tokyo leather goods maker that has been at it since 1965. It began as the passion project of Gifu-born leatherworker Kunio Tsuchiya, and the atelier now makes totes, weekender bags, card holders and wallets, plus Randoseru, the Japanese school satchel. Everything is handmade from naturally treated, veg-tanned leather, cut in a plain, minimal way and finished with precise stitching. The idea is that the leather does the work over time. These bags are built to last, and they soften and mould to you with daily use, looking better as they age. Two of its designs won Platinum at the A' Design Award & Competition 2026, and the brand also sells a leather care add-on.
