Visvim
Visvim is a Japanese label founded in 2000 by designer Hiroki Nakamura. It began with footwear that blended Native American moccasins with technical sneaker ideas, and grew into a full apparel line by the mid-2000s. Nakamura's love of Americana and handmade objects runs through it, along with vintage workwear references, folk craftsmanship and centuries-old dyeing techniques. The idea behind the label is what it calls "future vintage": clothes made slowly and intentionally, designed to age and pick up character with wear. Today that covers denim, knits, shirts, outerwear, boots and backpacks. Visvim also runs sister brands, including WMV and Indigo Camping Trailer, and says it wants to connect customers with craftsmen who work with dignity.
