NANGA

NANGA began in 1941 in Maibara, Shiga, Japan, where Akira Yokota's company sewed cotton futons and sofas. In 1988 it moved into sleeping bags, and the name comes from Nanga Parbat, the Himalayan peak nicknamed "Killer Mountain". The Aurora Down Jacket arrived in 2003. The Aurora Tex version has a waterproof, breathable shell that copes with British drizzle, and Urban Industry is a UK stockist. Everything is still made in Japan, with the down washed there and Spanish white duck down used across the range. Sizing follows Japanese cuts, so it's worth sizing up, especially if you plan to layer. The range also includes ripstop trousers, knits and jackets.
