ON Running

On began in Zurich in 2010, started by former Swiss Ironman champion Olivier Bernhard with David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti. Bernhard wanted a running shoe with a totally new feel, and his first prototype had pieces of garden hose glued to the outsole. That idea grew into CloudTec, a patented system of hollow pods that compress on landing and firm up at toe-off. In March 2010 the reworked prototypes won the ISPO BrandNew Award. Everything is engineered in Switzerland, at the On Lab in Zurich. In the UK, the Cloud 6, Cloud Surfer and waterproof Cloudrock are the ones to look at. They suit road, trail and the street, which makes them handy for British weather.
