OrSlow

OrSlow is a Japanese label, based in Hyogo, that takes its cues from work and military clothing. Founded in 2005 by designer Ichiro Nakatsu, it grew out of his admiration for denim and military uniforms, along with a fondness for Americana and a habit of searching antique stores. The brand looks at late 19th and early 20th century styles and reworks them through its own filter, with close attention to fit, detail and fabric. It is best known for selvedge denim woven on traditional shuttle looms, which is meant to age naturally and fade in its own way. The range takes in selvedge jeans, fatigue pants, chore jackets, denim jackets and military shirts. The name reflects the idea of slowing fashion down.
