Samsara

Samsara makes shoes from natural materials, designed in Barcelona and handmade by artisans in Portugal. The brand's name comes from Sanskrit and means an eternal cycle, "flowing together" through life's journey. Its main shoe is the Dharma, an all-terrain style meant to work in the city and on the trail. The uppers are 100% hemp, chosen because it needs little water, no pesticides and is lightweight, breathable and strong. Colour comes from mineral dyes, the lining blends bamboo and recycled fibres, and the outsoles are Vibram Ecostep rubber. The founder says they grew up in Barcelona, between the sea and the mountains, and that shapes the brand. A good pick if you want a trainer that isn't leather or synthetic.
