Alpha Industries

Alpha Industries is a Tennessee-based label with its roots in military outerwear. It began in 1959 with N-3B parkas for the U.S. armed forces, and in 1963 won contracts for the MA-1 jacket, the blueprint for the modern bomber. The MA-1 gained its orange lining so downed pilots could flip the jacket for visibility. Alpha also held government contracts for the M-65 field coat for 25 years. To keep its production lines running between government contracts, it began making jackets for the commercial market, marked with the three-bar logo. Today you'll find bombers, field coats and parkas, plus hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts and caps, many finished with its Battlewash treatment for a naturally worn look.
