Avirex

Avirex began in New York City in 1975, inspired by aviators, and it still designs there today. By the early 1980s it was supplying military aviation apparel to the U.S. Air Force, and its A2 style was worn by pilots. From there it became known for leather bomber jackets, with themed embroidered patches and detailed linings. In the 1990s and early 2000s it was picked up by hip-hop artists such as Notorious B.I.G, Snoop, Method Man and Nas, plus Usher and Mariah Carey. The brand was reintroduced in 2021 and now describes itself as luxury streetwear. Leather outerwear is still the core, but it also makes denim, heavyweight tees, sweats and pants.
