Drôle de Monsieur

Drôle de Monsieur is a French menswear label from Dijon, started in 2014 by two self-taught designers, Dany Dos Santos and Maxime Schwab. Their idea is to bring the Seventies together with the Nineties, drawing on their own memories of growing up when rap and hip-hop were arriving in France. Music runs through the look of the brand, from golden-era French rap to soul, with nods to album art and vintage video style. Expect neutral, ready-to-wear basics: t-shirts, crew sweats and caps. The best-known slogan is "Not From Paris Madame", stamped or embroidered on tees, sweatshirts and caps, a cheerful reminder that good ideas don't need a Paris postcode. There is also a shop at 28 rue de Poitou in Paris.
