G-Shock

G-Shock started with a broken watch. In 1981, Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe dropped one and watched it shatter. That frustration turned into a two-year obsession with building a watch that could survive almost anything. The result was G-Shock, a design so over-engineered it changed what people expected from a watch. It has since been worn by soldiers, skaters, climbers and musicians, and by anyone who doesn't treat their belongings delicately. The technology moves on and the shapes get bolder, but the aim stays the same: push toughness further while everyone else worries about scratches.
