Couverture & The Garbstore

Couverture & The Garbstore has been a fixture of Notting Hill since 2008, set inside a former timberyard on Kensington Park Road that now runs to three floors of womenswear, menswear and home. It made its name championing emerging and independent labels with a genuine story behind them, and that instinct still shapes the buy: house line Garbstore sits alongside Japanese workwear-minded names like AS2OV, Sedan All-Purpose and Universal Overall, considered knitwear from Extreme Cashmere and Himalayan Cashmere, and small-batch makers such as Carrick Ceramics and Toyo Steel.

The edit leans designer and heritage in equal measure, with a minimalist thread running through it, so tailoring and directional pieces from TOGA VIRILIS or HERILL share space with hardwearing basics from Tory Leather and Still by Hand. It rewards a proper browse rather than a quick in-and-out.
